On what sites can we leave you a review?

We can be found on TripAdvisor, Facebook, Google, Groupon, Yelp, and Instagram.

Can I bring my dog on the boat?

We’re sorry, but no pets of any kind are allowed on the boat, unless they are registered service dogs and you can bring their papers.

Is my infant child allowed on the boat and does he/she need a ticket?

We believe Red Boat to be the only tour boat of our type that allows children of any age aboard. We welcome your entire family however we do require everyone to have a paid ticket, because we are strictly limited by the Coast Guard, as to how many people we have aboard. We have a discounted ticket price for children five and under, all others pay the current advertised rate.

How long are your tours?

Our Dolphin Odyssey Tour and our Sunset Cruise are both 90 minutes. Nights of Lights Tours are 75 minutes and our private tours vary in length, at customers’ discretion.

Will I get seasick on your boat?

The White Pelican is a very stable and spacious boat, with open sides for plenty of fresh air. We operate only on relatively smooth water and have not had anyone get sick.

How far out on the water do you go?

We operate only on the protected waters of the Intracoastal Waterway and Matanzas Bay. We do not go out on the open ocean and at no point, anywhere on our tours, are we more than 1000’ from land.

Where do we go to meet the boat?

We pick up passengers at the Vilano Beach Fishing Pier Floating Dock at 260 Vilano Road. Upon arriving at the Pier, please park either in the small lot at the pier or on the street, anywhere up and down Vilano Road. (All FREE parking) Please DO NOT park in the lot at Beaches restaurant. After parking on the street, walk out onto the pier, past the statue of the big bluebird, under the three flying dolphins, and look for a ramp on the left side of the pier. That ramp will take you to a floating dock, which is where we will pick you up. This is a public use dock and therefore only used for embarkation and disembarkation, not for permanent boat parking, so if the boat is not there when you arrive, we will be there soon. When you do see the boat at the dock, proceed down the ramp to check in and board. You may wait up on the pier until the boat has arrived, but check-in will be done right on the boat, as you board. Board early, for the best seat choices. Have fun!!

Are we guaranteed to see dolphins?

Although we have a 97% success rate at finding dolphin on our tours, there is no guarantee that we will see them on any particular tour. As we tell everyone when you board, “This is NOT Sea World”, this is dolphin in their natural habitat. We don’t give up easy though!! ☺

Are you affiliated with any other tour companies in St Augustine?

No, Red Boat Tours is a Florida LLC owned and operated by Captain Tony & Miss Jennifer and they are not affiliated with any other tour companies in town.

Is your boat safe?

Very Safe! Our Coast Guard inspected and certified 45’ Trident Pontoon is 12’ wide and has three pontoons under her, for maximum stability. She is equipped with more Coast Guard approved Type 1 life preservers than we can carry passengers, including a child sized life preserver for every child aboard. She went through a major rebuild summer of 2019, where she received new pontoons, new decking, new electrical, new electronics and new power. She is now powered by a pair of 2019 Suzuki 4 stroke 140 HP Outboard motors. She is crewed by U.S. Coast Guard licensed and current Master Captains and experienced First Mates.

Does your boat have a bathroom?

Yes, we have a bathroom at the rear of the boat, with a flushing toilet.

Is the boat covered and enclosed?

The boat is covered, front to back, so all seats are shaded and protected from rain. We do not have the sides enclosed, beyond the normal railing height, as it would obstruct the view.

Can we bring food and beverages aboard?

Yes, we have complimentary bottles of water, but feel free to bring a small cooler and whatever beverages and snacks you would like. We discourage alcoholic beverages on our daytime Dolphin Odyssey tours, but our Sunset Cruises are B.Y.O.B. and adults only, please.

What happens if the trip is cancelled due to weather?

In the event that your tour is cancelled by us (Red Boat) due to weather, a mechanical issue, or for any reason, you will be offered the option to either rebook your tour, or receive a refund. Your choice.

Can I get a refund, if I decide I don’t want to go?

Cancellations with at least 48 hours notice will be rescheduled, or refunded, at the discretion of the customer. Cancellations with less than 48 hours, but more than 24 hours, will not be refunded, but may be rescheduled with a $10 rescheduling fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice and No Shows/Missed Departures will not be refunded or rescheduled and will be charged a $10 per person service fee, as we did not have the opportunity to resell those seats.

Will the boat wait for me, if I’m late?

I’m afraid not. We run on a tight schedule and need to adhere to the schedule, so we depart on time.

*Please don’t call us if you are concerned that we may cancel due to weather. If you are concerned with the weather, trust that we are as well. If we do need to cancel, due to weather or any other unforeseen issue, we will send an email and a text to the address and number you have provided during booking, advising you of the changes. If the contact information that you provide us when you book your ticket is not accurate, or you are not monitoring it, we can not contact you and advise you of any changes.
